Steel is one of our staple building materials. To produce steel, we need to use iron ore and metallurgical coal. The longwall mining method is an increasingly common underground mining technique used to extract metallurgical coal. This app experience highlights how the longwall mining method works by presenting a series of animations to explain the key processes involved. These animations are easy to understand 3D models that the user can look around using augmented reality (AR) with text note explanations. Some of these AR models are interactive and can also be rotated/enlarged to explore multiple aspects.
